Jake and Mike's Picks of the Week 7/15/15

Here are our picks of the week, which comics did you like this week?

Jake's Picks:

Martian Manhunter #2 How long has it been since we've seen J'onn in his own series?  The first issue was a fantastic start to the series where we learn that J'onn might not be the last of his kind after all.  As you can see from the cover, this is an action-packed issue that you won't want to miss!

Doctor Fate #2 DC's line of new titles has brought back many of favorite characters and Doctor Fate is one of those.  This series focuses heavily on the Egyptian lore that gives Doctor Fate his powers and the mystical corner of the DCU has always been a favorite of mine.

Mega Man #51 We're in the middle of a big crossover event between Mega Man and Sonic the Hedgehog.  Having grown up playing both video games, Worlds Unite has been such a fun ride.  This is good for both kids and adults alike.

Mike's Picks

Justice League #42 It's part two of the Darkseid War!  It's been a huge relief to see Mister Miracle in a post Convergence title, especially when drawn by the incredible Jason Fabok.  We get to see some more of the Anti-Monitor and you'll never believe what Batman does at the end, this issue is a must read.

Robin Son of Batman #2 Robin's speech at the end of the first issue has me completely sold on this series.  It's great to see Damian get his own series after Batman & Robin ended.  This book is all about a young boy deciding to face his past to prove that he is better than what he was made to do, and it's awesome.

Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps #2 Carol Danvers is a great character and Kelly Sue DeConnick has been knocking it out of the park.  Now Carol has a team that has convinced her that there's not something right with the world that Doom has created for them and something has to change.
