Jake and Mike's Picks of the Week- 11/11/15

Jake's Picks:

Airboy #4 This is the last issue of James Robinson's Airboy.  This series has been hands down one of the best series to come out this year.  Robinson really puts himself out there in this book and it gives me a greater appreciation of his work.  Greg Hinkles art pairs well with Robinson's story telling to give us a great conclusion to one of my favorite books.

Pathfinder: Hollow Mountain #1 I picked this book up because I've heard a lot of good things about the Pathfinder game.  And while I've not played Pathfinder it's similar to Dungeons & Dragons, which I'm all about.  This is a great start to a dungeon crawling series and I look forward to seeing where it goes.

Zodiac Starforce #3 I read the first issue of Zodiac Starforce with low expectations; boy was I a dummy.  This book is Sailor Moon meets Steven Universe and it's a ton of fun.  An all girl team with cosmic powers, beating up monsters, it's consistently a great read.  Plus the colors in this book is some of the best I've ever seen.  I highly recommend it!

Mike's Picks:

All New All Different Avengers #1 What can I say besides...MARK WAID! I can't tell you how excited I've been for this book.  Mark Wait is throwing together a team who's new to the standard Marvel Universe, especially Miles Morales!  I'm interested in seeing how these guys will operate together and if the team will be official members or their own unauthorized team.

Descender #7 This book has done so well to constantly change things up and keep you clueless, but also keep you reading.  I don't know how to describe it other than a more  grounded Astroboy that's more of an adult book but at the same time nothing like Astroboy.

Ultimates #1 I was sad to see the Marvel Ultimate universe end.  To me those were some of the best Marvel stories.  I'm just happy to see Marvel continue the title even if it really isn't characters from the Ultimate universe, but I am very happy to see Captain Marvel on the team!  I'm betting I'll be surprised on how good this book will be.
