Jake and Mike's Picks of the Week- 10/7/15

There are a lot of good books out this week, which were were your favorites?

Jake's Picks:

Batman and Robin Eternal #1 A new weekly series has started at DC this week with Batman and Robin Eternal.  Unlike last year's Batman Eternal, this series deals heavily with the Robins and a few others who have helped Batman along his journey to vanquish evil in Gotham.  Plus this issue has a surprise cameo at the end that you won't want to miss.

Mike's Picks:

Doctor Strange #1 I've been waiting a long time for a new Doctor Strange series and we finally have one courtesy of Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo.  A warning of The Great Slaughter comes to Doctor Strange from another dimension and the good doctor fears that he and Earth's wizards may not be able to stop it.  This issue is full of great action, beautiful art, and plenty of humor.  Give it a read!

Paper Girls #1 Saga writer Brian K. Vaughan launches a brand-new series with superstar Wonder Woman artist Cliff Chiang! In the early hours after Halloween of 1988, four 12-year-old newspaper delivery girls uncover the most important story of all time. Stand By Me meets War of the Worlds in this mysterious young adult adventure, starting with a spectacular double-sized first issue.

Amazing Spider-Man #1 How could this not be one of my picks?!  I've always loved Spider-Man since I was a lad and there have been so many unanswered questions since the beginning of Secret Wars such as, what happened with Parker Industries?  Does Black Cat stay bad?  What's with the new costume?  I'm as giddy as my ten year old self again!

Action Comics #45 Don't ask me why but I love reading a Superman who scraps.  This book really takes you to a pure version of Superman in the heart of his home in Metropolis.  All the decisions he could make based on his powers, he can no longer make.  Plus the whole world knows who he is, it's an exciting book no doubt!

Batman Beyond #5 This issue is going to have a cool tie-in with the other current Batman series that I'm really excited about.  Brother Eye just will not go down and pretty much laid future Gotham to waste.  Tim as the new Batman Beyond is running out of options!
